Where are you buying your quantum iii oil?

Featured Replies

Back up to £28/L most places. How can you tell if the ones on ebay are legitimate?

This one seems to check out.

£20.99 for 5L.

Despite saying Motorhomes Scotland, the VAT number checks out as Parks Motor Group.

Last year they had a £280m turnover. I would seriously doubt it's not the genuine stuff.

edit.

As above, and Cardiff and Bristol Audi have sold on ebay too.

I checked Cardiff Audi out before purchasing from their ebay site and the item was listed by their parts manager, and the addresses matched.

That has just sold out then as it was still available when I posted it.

Not sold out (I think) just ended, that's all.

That seller sells quantum regularly, so I would imagine they will re-list a quantity soon.

Why not just nip down to your local TPS?

They won't sell to me. But it depends on locality, the OP may be looking to save a few £.

They've already resisted it. Just ordered one myself.

TPS only worth while if they have an offer 4+ 5lt cans about £19. However the eBay ones are also about the same delivered to your door for 1 can. Bargain in my books.

That too is sold out.  I've been in Amsterdam since Saturday; just got back yesterday evening so sadly I've not been able to keep checking this thread quick enough.

TPS have them in :) £18+VAT, so £21.60 :) Bargain.

Cheers! I'm quite surprised that TPS is so reasonable; sometimes their prices are great, other times, just OK. £1.61 is fair premium to pay to get it now, rather than perhaps tomorrow, more likely Friday :)

Even cheaper if you have an account, I get an automatic 15% off most service parts/fluids, yet to find anywhere cheaper.

How would a regular joe like me get an account?

I have a LTD Company (in a totally unrelated field), I just went in and advised I do diagnostics and electronics on VAG vehicles and would like to setup an account under my company name.

5 mins later it was done, that was a few years ago now and they've never questioned the tiny amount of items I buy which is basically just service parts and other little bits and bobs for my own and some friends cars.

Thought I was careful with money, but i wouldn't worry about a 15% circa £3 saving possibly once a year or so, just for oil. :)

Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter is what I change on my annual service then just oil and filter every 6 months, along with pads, discs and so on every couple of years.

And it's basically on my doorstep for the cheapest price I can get it anywhere, what's not to like?

Was just on about hazza wanting his oil quickly bud, that's all. I have no problem with people saving money at all.

If he is using longlife, I doubt it's changed as frequently as yours though, otherwise no point using longlife.

No worries. .

Tilt, I'm on fixed servicing, not variable, so like you say, I don't need to use longlife, but I figured it's only better than not using it.  And, at £21.59 for 5L, it's not bank breaking :)

Parks of Hamilton used to own the garage and petrol station in Carfin, just outside Motherwell, it was for many years a Citroen Dealership but it moved to Coatbridge and they used it for a few years selling Motorhomes from it which I'd imagine is where the name Motorhomes Scotland may originate from... The petrol forecourt I believe is still run under Parks name but the garage after lying empty for a few years s now an Enterprise Rent a Car outlet....  They do however currently have a Skoda dealership not far away on Townhead St in Hamilton.
