Remap without voiding warranty?

Featured Replies

Alright all, quick question before I shoot too work (hence why i haven't had a proper look).

Anyone know how to remap a car that is under warranty? I have heard you can, so long as the place that is remapping the car is an authorised dealer within the car's region?

Any light on the subject would be helpful. I have a Skoda Rapid 1.2 TSI 110 BHP so anyone with a remap throw some figures my way so i know what i'm looking at! Cheers all

Phone a Skoda dealer and ask? It'd probably void the warranty on your engine, but not the rest of the car.

Cant see it been costs effective for only 20bhp max gain

Read the Manufacturers Warranty as Skoda UK has the T&C's on 'Factory Approved Engine Management',

There are no UK Dealerships that sell Remaps that are 'Factory Approved Remaps', so someone else like REVO, APR, Superchips would have to be selling a Warranty that covers what Skoda UK do not,  and there are none doing this.

You do get a Warranty / Guarantee on their work / software, read this with 'Superchips', That does not mean that Skoda UK do not invalidate their Warranty on the Engine / Drivetrain.

See Exclusions. Page 6, 'software'.

A tuning box might not be detected, and if it is just do not claim on the Manufacturers Warranty, just pay for breakages yourself if there was to be any, as you can with a Remap.
