Rear bed

Anybody sleeping in the back of their car (with seats folded down), does it work?

You could certainly do that in the estate version, note sure if there is much difference with the hatch in overall length, if anything? It really depends how tall you are, I could probably manage to sleep at an angle with my seats down but it would be too tight for me in a straight line!

It might be slightly more comfortable than camping out at this time of year, just remember to bring a good duvet to wrap around your sleeping bag and maybe a soft mat to make it more comfortable.

Never tried to sleep in it yet, but there's a step from the boot floor up on to the seat backs once folded. Unless you have the variable boot...

Might want some cushions or something to make it level?

Have you upset your other half? :tongueout: :wondering:

I think the correct question is: Have you been given the boot?

 :)

From personal experience I can assure you that sleeping in the front seats is not as daft as it might seem. Slightly reclined with pillow works fine and I'm 6ft 5 !

Can't afford a hotel for you and the girlfriend...lol

The old "the girlfriend is pregnant and the wife is upset too" problem... ?

You guys are awesome!  :D

Perfectly feasible but as said above you would need the variable floor or equivalent to get rid of the step.

You would also need to extend the rear seat headrests to beyond the seat squab so they lay as flat as possible.

Wasn't there an option for a front passenger seat that could  go far enough forward and the seat back lay down flat backward?

I think it a better option than sleeping in a reclined front seat overnight, I get that swollen foot feeling you get on very long haul flights in economy class.

the main problem is that if it is cold and you have the windows closed then you get a massive build up of condensation and if it is warm and you open the windows then inevitably get a swarm of mosquito in. Or worse, in Scotland, midges!

Tents are much better overall but only in Europe as here in Australia there are innumerable species of venomous snakes, scorpions, spiders, centipede and even ants to ruin your sleep.
