Open sunroof pix

Featured Replies

I remember people asking about the hatchback sunroof, how big? worth the money? etc. Well, today was a perfect day to give the sunroof a good airing. I opened it before leaving and closed it after returning home. It's not that big. It is worth the money.

When you open the sunroof, the glass panel pops up and slides back over the roof, and a lip (spoiler, it's called) pops up at the front of the opening to act as an air dam. It works pretty good, too. I drove on the motorway for 10-15 miles and you get some wind buffeting, pleasant rather than annoying, and a bit of noise, but not as much as you might expect. I could still hear my music clearly, and it was very sunny and airy like a sunroof should be. Air conditioning was turned off the whole time. Nice.

And, as you're inside, you don't notice the outside appearance. You might wish to close it before you exit the car:

looking good there.

It's a shame sunroofs are not fitted as standard these days, used to have to roof open on my first Octavia Elegance on hot sunny days, kept the car lovely and cool.

That looks pretty smart on your Sportline model.  I like mine a lot and looking forward to using it again in Spring/Summer, but I think Skoda could have made the opening from the inside slightly bigger, it's a big old unit from the outside.

Does yours close with the remote control by holding down the locking button? mine is a 2016 model and it does, but I seem to remember someone saying it was to be disabled as part of a safety recall.

I have the Sunroof on my 230 (66 plate), it Tilts, open/shut, with the key but doesn't open fully, as you say it's a saftey feature. I would think the Superb is the same

I'll have to give that a try! Since discovering keyless entry, the remote key has not left my pocket. Must finish reading the manual...

looks great.. Its just a shame they couldn't design it so it opened just that bit further... Guess that's the sacrifice of having a hatch back

My Brera had a panoramic skyview roof window. It was lovely and bright when it was revealed (about three times longer than the Superb roof) but it did not open. I prefer the opening, however small. And it was very nice at speed, which surprised me. My wife will like it, because it will remind her of being on the bike.

Agree.. We have a my16 rapid spaceback se sport which has a full glass pano roof which is really nice and light .. Just a shame it does not open

Another nice feature is the shade. I had a sunroof in my old Renault 19 that opened, but when it was closed you couldn't see through it.

I think the Superb sunroof is just right, and about £450 cheaper than the sunroof in the new Alfa Romeo Giulia.

I can't believe I am saying this, but this £35K car is such a bargain! (Especially as an ex-demo.)

The key opens all windows and tilts the roof and then closes them.

If the roof is manually retracted the key will close all windows and the roof

Here are a couple of pics from the estate variant. The tilt is very quiet as there is a side shield to the moving panel, this reduces wind noise and drafts significantly over the older style. The fully open position is OK on noise, it does actually go back a little further but this starts to get windy even in the front. The wind deflector / fly catcher is effective. The fixed glass panel actually goes back to the rear of the back doors and give glass above rear passengers.

On the hatch looks great when closed but I don't like the look when open. I won't bother to specify it. The estate looks more integrated due to the longer and rails.

What great colour

Best place to be if you have to go to Meadowhall stay in the car park.

I do like the Petrol Blue. I hadn't seen one before I collected it and there were 2 on the forecourt.

As for Meddlowhall, it was quieter s it was a Wednesday afternoon and I was tavelling on business and needed somewhere to do a 2 hour conference call with internet access. (I did call in to the Lego shop but left empty handed).

Test drove a petrol blue L&K on Friday, very impressive, haven't seen a single picture that really does it justice.

Couple of very nice cars by the way.

Freelunch is that Crystal Palace?

Was that mine as I am wondering where it's got to?
