Leak in Turbo under Chasis Octavia II 1.9 PD MT

Featured Replies

Hi Experts ,

Recently i have taken my car (Octavia ii 1.9 PD MT Diesel) to service for regular service (116000 KM ODO) and found that there is a leak under the engine bay at Turbo..

I'm not facing any issue in pickup and power .. but I'm worried because technician told replace it as it may cause issue suddenly.

Actual Turbo cost is very expensive in india.. more over i'm not sure the leak is outside because of any pipe damage or its internal,, one turbo specialist to le me to replace  Turbo Banjo washer  and check as the leak is outside only (He has not inspected the car in person)

Please help what should i do now ? i'm attaching the picture for reference .

Thanks

Baskaran

Hi Thanks for the suggestion !

Here Skoda Authorized dealers are not trust worthy and they all ways try to make money by replacing parts..

I have to try finding any individual specialist to open and check the Turbo , and necessary parts can be replaced instead of replacing the entire unit.

I'm Located in Bangalore.

Hi bhaskaranv,

to remove the turbo unit is not rocket science just a bit of hard work, there are plenty of video tutorials on YouTube

Check : BMVAG  turbo over haul, the guy is actually quite good and clear on what to do.

Enjoy

Thanks TTJD.. I must try it as since last two days i'm getting "glow plug" orange light indication and the power is getting reduced during that time, it repeats even after restarting the engine !!

Fingers crossed nothing should be major...
