Rear lights facelift fit to pre-face model?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I think that the new rear lights from facelift model looks much better, so Iam asking if someone know if will be fit the rear lights from facelift model to pre-face?

Think it's too early to say for sure - not aware of anyone that has even tried - but it looks like it should be possible. Shape looks the same etc.

I do not know if they will fit but I do know that the FL lights do not have a red reflector in them so the FL rear bumper has some relectors fitted to it. If your country requires red rear reflectors then you would need to fit some additional ones if you fitted the FL rear lights.

It's the same situation with the pre-facelift, so you'd already have the reflectors.

Also OP it doesn't appear that the facelift lights are full led (indicators and reverse still halogen). I'd have been tempted to swap if they were full LED but don't think it will be worth the cost just for the different look and no additional functionality benefit.

Not relevant (again)

I was going by this picture from another thread on the site. I thought that Pre Facelift models did not have the repectors in the bumpers as they were in the rear lights.

But if I am wrong then I apologise.

Those look like MK2 clusters, not MK3 :)

Sorry I mistakenly thought that this was a MkII thread. Ignore me and I will get my coat!

Also one college on our czech FB fun page sent  me an answer from Hella offical, and the mechanic side of the lights is identical, just the connector is a little bit another, but should work after small adjustment :))

Is this picture available in higher resolution? :)

I think the shape is the same. Only connector is changed maybe. That shouldn't be a problem. But the cost of new on is to much. Sam as replacing MIB.

Unfortunately I have just this picture, not in better res..  But I think if u will type to hella, they will send you The original.

The price should be not to high I hope, now costs original LED set of lights on Skoda parts about 220€ for both, also think that should be cca same price, when I sell my olds for 150 see than no problem .I Think just so.

MIB i didnt know that is possible to replace to MIB2, i have 1st gen too
