Spark Plug Change

Featured Replies

Sometimes 'Serious answers are posted' early in a thread,  before the banter and attempts at humour start and things go pete tong or OTT.

Why Briskoda is so well frequented, or avoided....by some.

The question from Doily vas serious

Probably from a person who would try to make things even without much experience from before. SUPPORT Why then make it difficult and unattainable for the person?
But when one does not understand how a spark plug works and should work, and do not realize that it is important to the proper torque, so this was a search to make it simple and make the threshold for turning even as simple as possible, without it would result in broken treads etc.

Had TBM known how many spark plug threads I've repaired the cars where people have changed spark plugs himself, he had enough got floored.

If it is simplicity that only should prevail here and that only English "self-styled mechanics" without mechanical depth should be allowed to express their views, so I pull me out...

Yes, but you didn't answer it, you answered a different question.

I think the best advice for the actual question asked is probably "try to undo them with the engine cold; if any seem reluctant to come out, try with engine hot".

TMB reminds me of a person in the Norwegian Volvo Club, who can not tolerate that others skilled in the art and trying every opportunity to fling dirt and wiping the knowledge that many have spent years acquiring. And when the simplicity and envy are allowed to unfold, then it all just laughing ...

Boring that some of us use many years of know-how to help people and give good advice, and then comes the idiots and squeezes important knowledge just as it would be unimportant. They nLast idiot will probably never die, there is an increasing number.

Hope you TMB sleeps well for a long time! Left hands job, is best for some, i suppose. But keep it for your self!

Her is an norwegian gir that waiting for you: Good luck!

What the actual f**k?! Where did all that drivel come from? My comment was an innocent bit of humorous nostalgia in response to cheshire_cat's post.

I always do my best to help people on here and have helped many people to solve problems with their Fabias. Torbo, you need to lighten up and get yourself a sense of humour!

I was not thinking about me! The person here would like to get help, and you get it worse and complicated for that person that need help.

I don't worry, but I was concerned for the person who needed help. Make it to complicated! Is that good help?

Or do you mislike that other has more experience about engines than you and so on? Obviously you know nothing or  anything about how dissipation occurs in the lower part of the spark plug, either? For hard cold plug, to loose two hot plug!  Now you know, may be? If that is funny or you dont understand, you should taken some education. If it had helped?

May be start at the first class?

Torbo my dear friend, you are making a bit of a fool of yourself here. For some bizarre reason you have decided to attack me for no apparent reason. Let me tell you someting - I am 52 years old, I have vast experience around cars and have worked at a Ford dealership. I obviously don't know everything and do not pretend to, but I do have a good general knowledge of how cars work and am pretty skilled.

Now then, before you dig a bigger hole for yourself let me tell you that my younger brother died suddenly on Jan 22nd this year and I'd rather spend my energy coping with that than arguing with a fool like you. Therefore I will enter into no further exchanges with you.

think it was lost in translation:blink:

I think the OP got an answer so I don't think a bit of off topic chat is much of a problem @Torbo

I think it's silly to joking with a serious question!
Most bad for the person that was asking.
Sad that you do not have fundamental knowledge to understand the answer either! May be thats the reason?
And since you did not understand what I said, so selection you would ridicule question and answers? Do you think it's good so good luck!
I have a five year degree in theoretical automotive technology, car technician an engineer, and 40 years in automotive engineering and later motor journalist and have my own workshop and so on.
And when I share my knowledge, no one should try to ridicule this!
But do you think you should have the exclusive right to answer inquiries so I can drop.
From my side, it was well intended. But I have other things to spend your time, if my advice and experience is not valued! Thanks for good help!

If it feels better, I can tell you that my brother drowned, an my best friend get killed in the middle of Oslo!

Not good that either...
