Spaceback 2016 known issues

Featured Replies

Hi,

Hello!!! It's my first question to this great forum! I'm considering buying Spaceback 2016 1.4 TSI and I've overheard that there are many issues I should consider while buying this including the possible failure of the gearbox (DSG known issues) and a known issue with the "brain unit" when the car reaches approx 100K KM. How much of it is true and how much is urban legend? I really like Skoda cars and this one in specific but I'm little concern if some of these are true. Thanks!!!

Welcome.

DSG issues on the 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG were from 2009-2013, then there was a World Wide Recall which was just a Service Campaign in Europe.

34F7. Change Synthetic Oil for Mineral & a Software Update.

Now there is another Service Campaign on boxes from 2013-2015

34H5. A software update.

A 2016 DSG should not have issues but then who knows what might happen in the future but surely with all the past experience of faults with some DQ200

VW / Skoda finally got it right.

Latest Service campaign is on 1.4TDI Euro 6 engines, change coolant... Mk3 Fabia being called in.

(Maybe sometime the VW Group will get things right, even if by luck rather than skills in building or sourcing components.)

PS.

When was that 1.4TSI / DSG Built, is it a 2015 car first registered in 2016?

Check check and check again, the Service & Warranty Record that is on the Skoda Computer System, and ask the build date of the vehicle.
