Brake Drum/Caliper/Metal Paint recommendations please

Featured Replies

As thread title - I have rusty/tatty rear brake drums on the fabia and would like to smarten them up a little.

Does anybody have any recommendations for any specific make of paint please ?

I will not be using bright/garish colours - so maybe silver/grey ?

I would probably prefer brush paint but not too hung up on that !

Thanks baz

Have a look for Buzzweld, either on Facebook or their website. They do some fantastic direct to rust coatings based around oil rig technology for a reasonable price, and they can tint it to whatever colour you fancy

Forget anything described as "high temperature aluminium"; that tends to mean ~200C, which is adequate for wheels, but brakes can reach twice that.

Drop him an email, they usually make them up to order I think - or find Craig Jones on FB, he runs it, very helpful and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to any kind of coating. I will be getting some tinted underseal to do  the sills on my Mk1 as they need a touch up in places.
