Skoday Factory Fit Alarm/immob?

Featured Replies

hi, just wondering what the spec was? i havent noticed and ultrasonic thingys hiding anywhere, car is irish spec and allgedly has factory alarm fitted... to be honest i havent even checked under the bonnet for a siren yet, its fookin freezin outside ;)

my key fob yoke has little led that flashes when button is pushed if thats any different:confused:

Cheers

Fergal

ps: car was demo model (03), and was told it had full factory alarm/immob

What model is it?

The UK Spec Octy RS only comes with a Cat2 Immobiliser, no alarm.

I have no idea what the Furby RS comes with.

The VW alarm system is built in as part of the multiplexing of the wires and can only be turned off by the dealer by a shutdown code to the ECU. the alarm siren on the fabia used to be underneath the wiper blade trim so i guess it is the same for the octavia.

vRS WRC has an alarm

As far as I am aware there are no ultrasonics on the Factory Fit Alarms. I have looked everywhere on mine & I cannot see them.

Garry, where are the ones on 66 ??

Graham

I have the same on the Furby - can't seem to find any alrm looking stuff under the bonnet.

Although not an official UK factory fit, lots of Octy RSs (including mine) had the Scorpion Cat 1 alarm fitted by dealers. Trythis thread which has a couple of piccies of the sensors etc. :)

the skoda standard alarms have movement detection hidden in the head lineing if you remove the interior lamp if should be fixed to the head just behind lamp. as for the siren i belive ifs fiited underneath next to the fuel tank and exhuast. unless skoda have changed them

I was told the same.

I got my alarm to go off by locking car with fob and then open door with key, when door opens my alarm goes off (put key in ignition and turn to deactivate.

I think there is a motion sensor inside, I also heard that it was in the interior lamp (I think the area where it has the little holes), I accidently got this to go off while waiting for my exam a few weekes ago, I was early and though I might fall asleep in car waiting so locked the car with fob, after a while I moved around as I thought I better do some studying and the alarm went off.

Theres also some kind of shock sensor as a football hit the front bumper shortly after I got it and caused it to go off (even Trevor didn't know that it was on it). Sometimes when car is parked on the road and if a noisy truck which would cause vibration in the road goes past will also set it off (only happened a few times)

Also try leaving drivers window down and locking with fob, then reach in and open bonnet, I can't remember if that was my car or dads that this worked on.

PM me and let me know how you get on.

Bandit, found mine very nearly the same way as Gaff did, did not know that they were fitted, locked the door with remote then opened with key, off goes the alarm, siren and all, Oh and the lights flash, sitting in the car at A@D@'s (no advertising) playing with the remote, locked doors and after about 3-4 minutes all hell broke loose, fright, I nearly paid my TV licence.

Garry, I know it has some form of sensing as I have done a similar thing, but I do not know where the sensors are, they are not in that little bit of grille next to the int. light as that is for the Mic for the handsfree kit.

Guess I will have to start looking !!

Graham
