Sorry to start a new thread guys, but posted in an older one and had no replies and I pick my new car up tomorrow. 

So to my question, does anyone know if the mats out of a series II will fit (properly) into a series III?

i have a set of almost new rubber mats in my current car and if they fit in the new one then great, but if they don't I'm going to try and blag a set tomorrow when I collect the car.

I can't confirm, but I'm pretty sure they won't...

Also look to get better quality mats than the skoda standard ones as the drivers one in mine have gone into a hole at under 12 months.  Gonna look for some better ones to replace them with

My Yeti mats wore out very quickly as well. I replaced them with Carmats4u Weld Wide and have found them excellent - even with my size 12s!

When I had my Tiguan I got the best quality that Motionperformance Essentials made and not only did they wear very quickly, the "locking plastic circles" refused to release the studs in the VW carpet!

MKIII & MKII are different, I had to buy new ones for MKIII

 

Also the MKII were nice thick rubber, lasted me 3½ years, the MKIII are some sort of thermoplastic and don't seem to be as thick, time will tell as to durability.

I purchased a brand new set of the Premium carpet mats with mine but never used them. They are just sat in the garage. I went for the rubber mats and the rubber tunnel cover in the back. Together they work brilliantly. They fit so well that hardly if any crud gets onto the carpets.

 

They also look good imo. I wouldn't go back to carpet.

Did you source these from the main dealer or elsewhere?
