Just purchased a 2000 falicia 1.3 in great condition it will need a good service but I can do that, I noticed when looking down the back of the engine that the  CV joint boot has split how much of a job is it to pull this apart? or can you buy a boot that is open and glues together? eny help please. Thanks Rob.

All sorted I got a universal boot cut it and glued it bit of a fidley job but seems all ok 

This is how a universal CV boot is fit. What "cut and glued" are you talking about?

 

 

The wraparound ones can be alright, but they're a total mixed bag, a lot really don't last, so it's worth keeping an eye on it.

 

If you're going to fit a boot like in the youtube clip, bear in mind that you'll most likely dump your gearbox oil when you take the shaft out. 

 

I'm not really a massive fan of universal boots, yeah, they get you through an MOT, but they never seem to stop on awfully well, better to spend a few quid more and get the exact right size.
