I seem to have a mismatch in my (see sig below) 'new' Yeti's VIN, according to the info given by Exeterj (thank you!) here .

 

However, mine starts TMBKF... , which gives the engine code as F - 1.6 ltr. TDI/66 kW/diesel engine,

whereas I would have expected B - 1.2 ltr./77 kW/petrol engine 

 

The VIN isn't error proof, then?

 

 

According to this post , it should be F (1.2 ltr/77 kW/petrol engine)

Ah!  Thanks for that link to TP.  Exeterj's info is probably Octavia-specific.
