No TV ads ?

Featured Replies

I was expecting a few ads on the box on launch day forward, as Skoda are targeting owners from other marques specifically with the Kodiaq release.

Outside of the Skoda community and the minority of motorists that read online car magazine/reviews I think the Kodiaq is still pretty unheard of.

Maybe I am jumping the gun, but in Skoda's position I would have had ads on TV from day one for a week thereafter, but what do I know

I agree though I did see a huge electronic advertising board overlooking the main road in Cardiff centre. Quite impressive looking it was but I knew what the car was and as you say "not a lot of people know that" :D

I think that they may start to advertise once they get the supply chain flowing, better value for money.

In the Rep. of Ireland, the ad for the Kodiaq has been showing numerous times a night, since the launch ( mid march), but it's not much help, as when you go on to the website, to find more details, and go into the configurator, all the extras, from extended warranty, to wheels, seats, etc, are still showing as €0.

Obviously they ( Skoda Ire), believe that the Kodiaq, will sell itself, irrespective of the extra costs.

Skoda Ire aren't doing a great job with the launch .. Having the options showing €0 isn't great . Talking to my dealer, he said that a few customers walked away after being told that all the free extras they had seen on the web weren't free

I emailed asking when a press launch might be, never got a reply.

I emailed Ireland Press too, got a stock answer with a link to the website.

Some day I do think what these incredibly well paid people do, sadly it's nothing to do with skoda owners and all about those who don't yet own one. So disillusioned with it.

Sadly, this seems too true.   Brand Loyalty seems to only work one way,  Skoda owners towards the brand, but when it comes to reverse, it all falls apart.  Yes, there are some great dealers out there, but they too, must get very disillusioned with their national company at times, as they themselves cannot update configurators etc.

I find it astonishing that you run what must the largest online Skoda community there is, with such a huge and receptive audience, and they disregard you in this way. Their head of PR should be shot - I worked in PR many years ago and it's the size and profile of audience that most brands would kill for...

If the Kodiaq had been available in England with all the extras for zero cost, I would probably have taken a chance and ordered one of them fully loaded instead of the Superb.
