First Service

Featured Replies

Morning guys, my 2016 VRS is coming up to a year old with only 7500 miles on the clock.

My display is saying oil service in 3500 miles or 60days.

And an inspection in 12500miles or 365 days.

I rang skoda to ask about a price for oil service and after taken my details i was told my service is on variable and is not needed for the first 2 years regardless what my display say. Im abit confused as the car is saying one thing and the dealers saying another.

I was also told that the first service will cost £210 even tho it states on there site £150.

Would you guys just get an oil service or shall i leave it another year?

I dont have any service plan and am looking at keeping the car a good few years.

Thanks.

If your display is telling you you need a service then the car it is obviously not set up for variable servicing no matter what the dealer is saying. The service schedule for all VAG motors is either Variable of every 12 months if you do less than 10k per year.

Cost wise it sounds like they have quoted you the 2 year inspection price, ask for a 12month Oil Service and quote the info you have found on-line. Are you contacting the dealer you bought from?, you can go to any Skoda dealer so you could try shopping around.

Yeah i took it to the place i brought the car from, i will ring about for cheaper quotes.

Thanks for your reply

You can book it through the Skoda website that way you'll get the correct price. I did & used a service centre instead of stealers, less bull that way.

If you're do low milage & keeping it go for fixed servicing

I just paid £150 in Swindon for a 1st service, just an oil change basically plus the usual checks. My car was programmed for variable servicing but I told them to change it, no problem.
