Do you have the bi Xenons and sat nav? If so they self adjust, if you have the Xenons but not nav, you can change in the infotainment under the light settings.

If you have halogens then you can't and need to take it to a dealer. I think they can still be adjusted for Europe driving, you just can't easily do it yourself.

I just have the standard lights. Dealer said id need to replace the whole light unit, but he didnt seem very confident of his answer

This was one of the reasons why I got rid of my UK car when I moved to Europe.

I took it for the registration & TUV check and they told me I must change the lights & the cluster display (because the kph wasnt visible enough).

When I got a quote from garage to replace these, I decided it wasnt worth the effort & took it back to the UK to be sold.

^^ this. TÜV will be quite strict on the requirements, I'd expect it to be stricter than the UK MoT. If it's chipped and a diesel I'd also expect it to be questionable on the HU, too, the particulate numbers may be too high.

You can leave it registered in the UK if you need to, but latest at the next MoT, you'll need to re-register in Germany to be legit, or return to the UK for the MoT. Insurance companies also won't necessarily like the car being abroad for long periods.
