Bp Ultimate

Featured Replies

Up untill now I have used optimax petrol ,now I have seen BP ultimate has any one used it, what RON is it, anyone got any thoughts?

Apparently the petrol is 97Ron (less than Optimax) and is just SUL rebranded.

the diesel stuff however. is really good :) has higher cetane rating, and makes less smoke and noise.

ultimate is 97 ron ,i used it last week for re map at jabba got 186 bhp standard 232.9 after must be ok

now got optimax in going like a rocket, going to try ultimate again next to compare.

Been to South Yorkshire two weekends running and thoroughly confused to find BP garages there selling Lead Free 4 Star. I had expected to find 97RON Super Unleaded or even Ultimate on sale. Filled up with Optimax instead on my way back down the A1.

 I'm thinking about giving the ultimate diesel a good testing for about 6 weeks up to my Jabba run... Which, means I need to start using it NOW! YAY!

Not looking forward to the extra cost, but if it does what it said it did in the article in "what car?" diesel report, then it should be beneficial for the engine (cleaning injectors, etc) at the cost of 3 or 4 pence per litre of fuel.

Jason you can use your Safeway money off petrol coupons to buy fuel at BP Safeways. I have plently in my area and I just hope ultimate is included!

did 200 mile journey today, although not scientific at all, it was all moterway at between 60-85mph on optimax 33.2 mpg on ultimate (last eighty miles) 34.1.

anyone had asimilar experience. can't say about performance yet.

I tried BP Ultimate in my cab this week and was suprised at how much quieter

it was.Performance wise i cant say ,the nissan 2.7 engine is a bit of a pig.

Ive just filled up the Superb so i'll have to wait and see.

I'm trying it as well this week for a change (you'll know I'm not a Dodgimax fan).

It seems a little torquier low down and (as above) a little quieter.

Well. since the Jabba remap I've tried Optimax, BP Ultimate (not much choice, it's the only SUL available locally), Texaco SUL, and normal 95 RON.

I can tell the difference between 95 RON and SUL, but there's no discernible difference between the SULs

Perhaps K-cruise is jammed on ?!

Hardly had chance to use mine since - all local/busy A roads :smile-l:
