low beam headlightn indicator on instrument cluster.

Featured Replies

hi and apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, just joined today so feeling my way around.

picked up my new (pre-facelift) Scout last week.

what i've noticed is that with either the auto headlights, or manual headlights, on, there is no green symbol in the instrument panel to indicate this. easy enough to tell at night obviously but can't think of a reason why this wouldn't be there - especially as the equivalent foglights symbols are...

dealer wasn't much - or indeed any - help so thought i'd try the real experts :)

not something i'll die in a ditch over but good to find if others have noticed the same thing.

thanks!

No there isn't one, your dials will be backlite though, if your dial backlights start slow flashing it telling you to turn the lights on.

Best just to leave them in auto

As above there isn't any indication on the instrument cluster. If you have your lights on auto and they come on, if you look at the light switch, the sidelight position lights up green for dipped beam. Not sure why the sidelight symbol lights up rather than the dipped beam symbol though....

well, there you go.......and that's why I asked.

i can stop looking for something that isn't there and start enjoying the car :)

cheers guys!

When the lights are active (side or normal beam) the selector switch for the lights is illuminated so you can tell if they are active.
