hi all,

            can anybody tell me the correct fuel filter for my octavia 2011, 1.6 td elegance. halfords list it as crossland  503440928, whilst euro car parts list a completely different size one at nearly 3 times the price. i cant get under to check as ive a broken arm at the minute! thanks,

For me when i ordered the fuel filter eventually it turned out that the fuel filter was too small. I would suggest to ask someone so they could measure the outside of the filter housing and measure rough dimensions of the filter necessary for the filter inside. That way you would be more sure.

I don't own diesels so this may be misguided but wouldn't the fuel filter for a Tdi be in the engine bay inside the filter housing? Not under the car?

On my Pre FL it's easy enough to remove the O/S headlight to read the label on the filter housing giving you the housing part no. and manufacturer (Mann Hummel or UFI I think are the two types). There are two different types of Mann Hummel housings though if I remember correctly.  The housing part number can be cross matched to the correct filter though.

 

This is all based on my 1.9 PD though.

thanks all, my local garage has told me they get theirs from ECP. im assuming as they only list the one, it will be correct.

I assumed that due to my EGR insufficient flow fault that my EGR was clogged, I replaced it with a new one and the fault remained. It may have turned out to be a dirty MAF sensor (not fully tested but looking good).

 

Assumption is the mother of all.......

Just pop the bonnet and read the label on the fuel filter housing...

 

Ring your dealer, ask for price and part number as you will be ordering in a month or so...
