Estate v hatch suspension

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

my old daily driver 1u estate needs new rear shocks and think maybe fronts. I'm only looking for cheap fix for a year or so so im going to get some cheap coilovers (I know it'll ride like a dog but car cost me £200 lol) anyway is the suspension on a hatch the same as an estate?

Cheers

not at the rear

you can pretty decent decent oe shocks for much less than that, unless your springs have sagged.

I bought uprated ones for mine, but have swapped them back if you fancy them?

So I suppose the coilovers or hatch stuff would do then unless I'm well laden?

no, rear sag will be too much, you need estate springs

Hi Martyn

I have a set of  low mileage Jom coilovers I bought for my mk1 estate but never used (I often travel rough tracks and decided lowering the car wasn't a great idea). They're not particularly shiny but they will be cheap :)

Regards, Mike
