Huge service bill...

Featured Replies

Hi

My 2013 Octy 1.6 CR is up for service and the online Skoda dealership booking system says it needs a £475 40,000 mile service? Is this normal? Does anyone know what they actually do in this service?

Based on this:

http://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/service-and-maintenance/simply-fixed/pages/default.aspx

That well more than a full service, but it will be due a brake fluid change for an additional £52, DSG oil change is another £175, but that is only due at 60k

Minor (149) vs Full (269) only seems to include air filter & fuel filter (plus some visual checks - which you basically expect from the minor service, imho)

DSG service is 40k so OP is probably due that if they have DSG Major service + DSG service puts it close to 450.

Brake fluid should be done after 3 years from new, then every 2, so that should have been done last year and not due again until next year.

OP - I'd phone the dealer and ask for a price rather than booking online. Ask them to confirm what is being done.

My bad on the DSG (mine was done by the dealer just before I bought it).... although we don't know if the OP has a DSG in his 1.6.... profile suggests he has a 1.9!

Ideally we need to the OP to confirm what his car his and what previous servicing it has or hasn't had.  At least it won't be due a cambelt yet!

The 1.6CR TDI DSG is the dry 7 speed so, NO DSG oil change required
