Touching up front grill

Hi all

Not a Skoda question per se but my wife hit a pigeon the other day in her Audi damaging the plastic grill. It is a right ballache to change so I decided to try a repair with epoxy resin which has basically worked. However I now need to repaint the repair if possible. 

I think I have the colour code so I can get a touch up kit but given it is plastic, presumably I need some primer first?
