DSG – Auto Hold or Neutral?

We have a security gate at work and on the way out AH engaged, I looked in the mirror and reflected off a building window behind all brake lights were on.  However SS had not kicked the engine off, I will keep looking and try again as it is a pet hate to have glaring brake lights and I would not wish to infect upon others.  

Just also incidentally, the brake lights also come on when using adaptive cruise control in traffic jams as the cars slows and then stops by itself. It goes into autohold when completely stopped i.e brake lights on then too. You definitely want them on in that situation.
