eibach and koni

Featured Replies

Anyone got any more info on this combo ie why is it better than just eibach's? Why can't u use koni springs? Are the eibachs and koni dampers compatible ie- will the koni dampers end up knackered in 20 000 miles like when putting lowering springs only on standard dampers? What is the ride like? And whats the price like compared to eibachs only?

Cheers chaps

I think Eibach springs are better than Koni springs, but teh Koni Dampers are adjustable, where the Eibach's arent.

So the best of both worlds is to have Eibach springs on Koni Dampers, which are very much compatible.

At least thats how I read it.

Not sure about prices or ride yet. Still saving :-D

What Mort said :D Xav runs the adjustable Koni dampers and it felt as good as the Eibach combo. I suspect where it wins is being able to be set stiffer for the track....

From my investigations you have Konis and Koni FSDs (both adjustable) and Eibacj dampers.

You also have Eibach and Koni springs, with Koni giving 5mm more drop than Eibach, but Eibach are renowed for making very good springs, but also Eibach don't mke dampers, they get someone else to make them for them.

So, if you want an adjustable set-up Ebiach complete is not the way to go.

Also, prices are

Eibach springs - £140

Eibach Dampers - £320

Koni FSDs - £350 (I think this is quite low but the price can't be for 1 shock so it must be a set)

Not much in it really, it down to what you want. I don't want adjustability but Koni are known for making good dampers, and as I can't find out who makes the Eibach dampers Koni would be the prefer choice, but as set I'd prefer to stick with Eibach for both Dampers and Springs as they have been designed to work to gether.

Can any shed some light on who 'actually' makes the Eibach dampers?
