The facelift MK3 Octavia LED tail lights definitely fit and work with pre facelift!

 

Hollowmanvid has uploaded a video of his retrofit of them to his pre facelift estate. Who's going to be the first on here to do this retrofit?

Just looks really. The reverse and indicator bulbs are still halogen which is unfortunate :(

I honestly like the old tail lights better.

 

Fits better with the lines of the car. The new tail lights are a bit too "organic" for the hard lines of the 5E 

It's a shame that you cannot retrofit old headlights to the FL. I still think the newer front lights are fugly.

Yeah I agree. I prefer the two fine C shape red led strips of the present facelift when the tails are on too. It's a shame the reverse and indicator are still halogen too on the Facelift. It makes it a change for the sake of change rather than really providing anything over the previous tail lamps.

The near instant illumination compared to a filament bulb might be the difference between someone shunting you and not...

There seems to be two versions in the uk configurator led rear lights and led rear lights (high). Not sure of the difference.

LED rear lights look like the pre-facelift cluster but I think with only one C shape light tube. 

LED rear lights (high) are those in the video above. 

OH no, does anyone have a copy of HollowMans video - it seems to have been removed. I was hoping to get the part number for the clip that the existing mark 3 pre-facelift plug goes into.

If you search Hollowmanvid on youtube you may find the clip you're looking for.
