Advice pls, Wheel Bearing.

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a MK III octavia (black edition) are wheel bearings under warranty? The car is a 64 plate but only 2 1/2 years old The clock is on 57000. I know Skoda do 3rd year warranty at up to 60000 or 3 years. Am I covered????? There is defiantly a repetitive droning noise coming from one of my rear wheels except when the load isn't on that side as I turn. Any help would or advice would be gratefully received.

Yeah you should be under warranty for that. Book it in with your dealer to be looked at.

I believe others with earlier models have had wheel bearings replaced under warranty.

That's music to my ears (unlike the droning) I have it booked in for a summer check on Monday and I wanted to be pre armed for if i get a NO. Thank you

Just need to see if I can get a reverse sensor pushed back into it's slot. God knows how it fell inside the bumper.

Also you can take it up with Skoda customer services if the dealer doesn't help you.

I guess they might say it's wear and tear not warranty.

Could also be the rear tyres wearing unevenly.

Could also be the indicator that the tyre is starting wear unevenly rather than a bearing.

Edit: see that has already been suggested!

I know of a 2014 vRS that's had a total of three wheel bearings done under warranty, 65k miles on it now.

Mine (16 plate)  has a front n/s gone, at 16k miles...they seem to be made from play dough
