Hi Guys,

i have an Octavia L&K estate 2.0tdi with what I think is a factory fitted removable towbar.  I'd like to use a towbar mounted cycle carrier, but don't want to exceed the load rating. Does anyone know what it would be and/or where I could find out?

80kg i believe, hopefully someone can confirm.

You are unlikely to exceed the normal caravan nose weight (the weight on the ball) of 75 kg, when you use a cycle carrier.

The largest cycle carrier I am aware of is the Thule EuroClassic G6 929 which has a 60 kg ball weight with up to four bikes on board.

Then again if you put on 2 Electric Bikes @ 30 kg each plus the cycle carrier like a Thule 916 and you get to 68kg, (68.9kg actually.)

so 75kg is OK if that is what it is.
