Is the Mark 1 such a Tank??

Featured Replies

I have a mark III VRS with 80K on the clock not sure if it will beat this old lady :-)

Same as the first fabias. Vw built them well (better than most vws at the time), to get the relaunched brand off to a good start in people's perceptions.

Here is another link about this old lady

Excellent link, really enjoyed the video. The journalist makes some very good points about the car itself and the green credentials of keeping it going so long.

Coming upto 11 years of owning my MK1, and still really enjoy the car.

Its mad, but everyone I meet, that owns one, loves it lol.. They're really popular here in Ireland, especially with farmers etc, they love 'em.. I was talking with a guy only this week who has his 10 yrs, his son is a skoda mechanic in Co Cavan, and reckons that the newer ones, albeit, great cars, are coming into the dealer for way more repairs than the older ones.. I'll be keeping mine until it really is done... if that ever actually happens lol
