How do I update the Bluetooth?

Featured Replies

Hi guys! How do I update the Bluetooth software on my Columbus (Octavia 2014)? I managed to download everything (I think), and I updated the NAV map with no problems.

But I can't find any "update Bluetooth software" options.

Help appreciated! Thanks!

Dont think there are any?

Probably the only way to do that would be to go to a dealer and get them to do a firmware upgrade should one be available and that should include all of the "driver" updates.

"Callin' Elvis" springs to mind

You can download the Bluetooth update from the Skoda update site. Just not sure how to install the update. There is a way.

Did anyone find out how to update the Bluetooth Firmware? I'm struggling to get it to find the update, but I have downloaded it from the update portal and I'm attempting it the same way I updated the maps.

Took mine to the dealer. Upgraded no charge.

Got it sorted myself eventually. Has stopped the cracklings from the tweeters, don’t think mine has even been updated. Cheers.

would you mind elaborating on the process? I downloaded the update and popped it on a memory card and then into slot 1 but the system always comes back after scanning for updates with a "no update found" message.

You can update the Bluetooth software version in same way as the maps update.

- download the Bluetooth software with the  download manager they give you through the "download" link and unpack it with the same manager to the SD card.

...then import the data into the infotainment system:

    1. Insert the card into the SD slot of one of your infotainment system
    2. On the navigation, press "Menu"> "Settings"> "System Information"> "Update software"
    3. The Bluetooth software will be updated in just about a minute.

Sorry to drag up this do late on, but I still seem to be having issues. I have tried lots of times to update Bluetooth as my steering control always comes up with "no phone connected" in the maxidot. However, it never finds any update following the process above, if anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

Make sure that your phone's Bluetooth is showing as visible, so it can be found.

Then try getting the phone to find the car (make sure that the ignition is switched on (engine doesn't need to be running), so that they cars Bluetooth is active, all being well they should find each other.

Thanks for the info, but I have no problem connecting the phone to the car, switching to phone via the button on the HU is fine and I can make and receive calls, plus voice commands work. However I can not use the steering wheel control for the phone, the maxidot display simply displays "no telephone connected". I had read various posts about this which all indicate a bluetooth update is required. However no matter how many times I download it from the update portal and unpack it to SD card (as I have with map updates) the system always says "no update found" when searching for it.

This could mean that the update is already applied, but I have no idea what version number i should be looking for to confirm this, and if this is the case there must be something else up with my system for it not to work.

I have a l/h drive estate first registered in January 2018, in France. My phone is a Moto G6 and my Bluetooth connection is perfect, showing contact photos and names on the Amundsen screen. However, when selecting the phone via the steering wheel, the Maxidot screen says, "No contacts found".  Bizarre.

It's a Brexit thing! ;)

I recovered some lost Bluetooth functionality but I did it in the phone and not in the Bolero.

I unlocked the developer options in my Android (Sony XZ1) for some other purpose, but found that I can select an older version of the AVRCP (not sure what that stands for but it could be Audio Visual Remote Control Protocol?). Version 1.4 works better than newer ones on my MIB1.

Glad to be of help.

I've just bought a 2016 Octavia with the Amundsen system - having some bizarre connectivity issues. The one that messes with my OCD is that when streaming music via Bluetooth (not the SmartLink)- the display is always one track behind. Reset the phone, the Amundsen system it's self and tried a different phone. Same result. Very annoying 😡

Not been able to find any specific Bluetooth updates via the portal. So will try the local dealership. Maps updated nice and easily.

Are you sure that's not an issue with the app? You don't mention if you are Fanbois or Fandroid.

Good suggestion, and many thanks. I will try a different app.

Currently the Android version of Spotify.
