Took my Citigo in for a service so got a Octavia as a courtesy car. The service person told me I was getting a Octavia so I thought yes then he said it's a automatic, ah I said not driven a automatic before so he showed me what to do. Last Octavia I driven was 10 years ago and was a new second generation model and I loved it but this new one was fantastic, comfy and a joy to drive. The dsg was great, no problems driving it but took me a while to get use to putting it in reverse. It was a 1.6tdi and I think top model. Would get one but wife wants to move brand :-(.

Out of interest why does the wife want to change brand and what other manufacturers does she have her eye on?

Suzuki Vitara. I have had Skoda's for 15 years and had no problems, had the wife 5 years....  

Trade her in quick, yeah the depreciation is harsh but, I find it better to nip these things in bud early if they OBVIOUSLY won't work long term.

 

Although, I do after 15 years of happy marriage ( well, she's happy & I'm married) find mines depreciated beyond economical efficiency therefore, I just ignor the POS she insists on buying.

 

Should it absolutely require cleaning I drive it to the local wash'n'scratch & paid them to do both oitside & inside an I10 really can't look any worst.

everything car related is up to me and that is how it shoud be... the wife can decide what carpets and food to buy.

In certain countries, Yugo was more-less everybody's first car... Don't be that harsh. Brings me nice memories.
