Strong screenwash and silver birches

Featured Replies

I have to park my car near a whole bunch of silver birch tress and – this time of year particularly – I am plagued with honeydew (the sticky stuff secreted by sap-sucking aphids). Some days the windscreen can be worse than the stickiest of old pub carpets and about as transparent. Has anyone got any recommendations for a good, strong screenwash that can cut through that kind of crap pretty much instantly? A lot of the stuff on the market just doesn't seem up to the job.

Have you tried sealer on the windscreen

Something like this

rain-off-glass-sealant

will be easier to clean the sap/sticky stuff of the screen.

Just a thought.

You'd be better off with a decent glass cleaner and micro fibre cloth stored in the boot.

Failing that a night shift and chainsaw.

Why not cover the windscreen with one of those plastic sheets designed to stop frost and ice forming?

Or cling film?
