As above if they are cheaper just go to John Lewis who will normally match the price and usually have a 5 year guarantee, or if not a better company to deal with. Richer sounds are good as well, current tv came from them and was cheapest there at the time and had the 5yr guarantee as well.

OTish - I was in John Lewis for the first time ever yesterday, and the quality of service I got from everyone was like going back to the 1970s. Polite and helpful, to the extent of digging in the stock room to see if they could find trousers my size after only finding one pair (which I bought) on the rails.

I go with Ken Fowler on this one. We bought a new TV in January this year. We found the best price for our chosen model was £499 in John Lewis, who included a full 5 year warranty.

John Lewis is not a shop we buy in normally. Too rich for our pockets, but they really  DO have some very competitive electrical deals.

We actually couldn't believe the price (Intu Metro Centre in central Newcastle) so wandered down the escalator to Argos, where the exact same model was £799, and a 3 year warranty was extra!!

A heck of a difference. Shop around.... Always.

I never use D&G. In most cases their dubious 'insurance' is already covered by warranty anyway.

Cancel the entire order, and buy from John Lewis or Richer Sounds and get a five year warranty as standard.

6yr warranty with RS if you join their VIP club. ;)

I'd only ever buy something like this from one of these two and there are both within a short distance from the OP (Sheffield has both & Leeds has a JL).
