Just getting to grips with my 280. Couple of questions, please.

1. How do I program a new destination using a post code?

2. When playing tunes off the numerous albums on my SD card how do I program the system to play random tunes off different  albums rather than off an individual one?

1. Good question. I've just spent hours trying to set up a route map around France, so I know what you're up against. Obviously, study the Owners' Manual. But, in my experience, you can't just go straight to a post code input. You have to do street address first, then town and lastly post code. I hope someone will come along and tell me I'm wrong.

I found it easier to find the GPS coordinates on Google maps and input those. When you save the destination, you can name it something that makes sense.

2. If you have your albums (or files) nested in folders, you can touch one level, then all folders below that level will be sampled at random. Make sense?

I just type the the post code in the blank area when choosing new destination.  it sorts itself out.

Ha! Far too obvious for me! I'll give that a try. Thanks. :D

Took me ages looking for post code menu before penny dropped.

I've got a 2017 model. It's the same procedure.

Seeing the above posts I thought I would just check mine again, in case i was going senile, but am right.

Where you type the town etc just input a post code and it searches and locates on map.

Mine always seems really slow when doing this and has tried sending me to the wrong place.  If others could see where this takes them on the SatNav: RG31 7SD

Pincents Lane, Turnham Green Business Park. On My 2013 Columbus with latest maps etc.

took me to the middle of town

Just popped out to my car (MiB 2 Columbus 2015 with ECE 2017 maps installed) and entered "RG317S" into 'City' and RG31 7SA to RG31 7SE popped up, so I selected RG31 7SD and...

... it took just a couple of seconds to calculate the 25 mile route.

Mine is really slow I would expect that the system can pick up the postcode as I type it in after all it's only got to look up the system alphabetically.

I will try a few others and then see if it something I need to take it in for.

Nope not quick or responsive takes up to 15 seconds to find somewhere quite slow really.  I am not sure the writers of the software understand the benefits of the UK postcode system.
