Hi all, just replaced our trusty fabia with a golf.

 

2004 Fabia VRS silver

182000 miles

8 months MoT

FSH

cupra bushes

Octavia VRS calipers

cruise

iPhone/iPod connection

 

my wife has used it to commute in for the last 5 years - it's been a brilliant car to be fair. Interior is immaculate, I replaced the seat base for a new genuine one a couple of years ago. Loads of receipts from TPS inc new Arb etc.

 

Exterior is not the best. there is some rust on the front sills and the rear QTRs but generally the paint is ok. 

 

i think around £1200 advert?

This forum doesn't do valuations because such posts read like adverts, and selling on this site means you need to pay for membership to place an advert.

 

However, good luck selling your high mileage VRS in below average condition for such a strong price.

Makes sense, I have always thought myself they read like adverts however I doubt people of this forum will be interested in our old thing. Perhaps an upgrade for your god awful 1.4 and 2.0 ones though?

You might be surprised as not only member look in the 'For Sales' and cars for sales.

Worth the £4 to advertise or Freedom Membership @ £12 as people might read adverts and not forum sections.

Please forgive me if I'm wrong but I did not see a value in your 'answer'? I'm really not that bothered about such a low value car if I'm honest. Auto trader have stated 1100 so doesn't seem I'm far out. Will advertise it for a grand and see how I get on.

Your best bet is to break the car. You'll see as much if not more money for it. 

 

Fundamentally these cars are now OLD. Your car in particular is getting on for 13 years old. But there is a healthy trade in people who want to keep their cars running so you'll easily realise £1200 by splitting out those Octavia brakes, the short engine, gearbox, turbo, seats and interior parts, headlamps, rear lamps,  bumpers, door mirrors and glass. Almost everything is worth £20-£50. Wheels and usable tyres will go for £120-£150. It doesn't take long to get to £1200.

 

There is even a special section in the For Sale forum for cars being broken. It's the way to go these days!
