Guys replaced air con pressure sensor...  Unit full of gas. And it still won't work any ideas what to try next

What do you mean "still won't work" ?? 

 

Try VCDS or VCP to check for errors. 

Tried vcds no fault codes shown up...  

 

What I mean is pressure sensor is a common fault so I just taught that was at fault. 

I replaced that and checked system no leaks 

 

So.what else can I look for at this stage 

Air con is really specialist, dealers will replace everything they can, find a specialist who will diagnose and go from there. It could be a sensor, a compressor failure, do air con pipes inside the engine bay get cold?  if not then it is most probably the compressor if they are cold then probably one of the hidden sensors in the dash. I had no end of trouble with my Octavia and the Superb is better but not perfect, conversely the wife's Honda has never missed a beat and hasn't been touched in 11 years. I don't think VW group have the best systems, but then this is based on my last three Skoda's.

I agree 100% that it needs to be taken to an AC specialist to resolve an issue. Our 11 y/o 122k mileage Superb MKI AC is still as cold as ice and everything works correctly, as does SWMBO 14y/o Focus and our 2011 Superb MKII is as good as both these too. Strange you should mention Honda as our friend, who has a 2016 Civic Type R has had no end of issues with its AC system from day one, and which they've still not resolved which, in this weather, isn't helpful to reducing her level of anger! Anyway, the point I'm making here, is that the personal experience of a couple of vehicle types can't be used to state the reliability of a particular manufacturer.

Almost certainly the compressor - I had to have mine, on my 2011 Superb, changed last year after the system failed to produce any chilled air in the middle of last summer...  :-(

 

There was apparently a particular model of Sanden compressor (the PXE16) that VAG fitted to a very large number of vehicles; that model had an inherent design flaw that resulted in inadequate lubrication and subsequent failure.  Take a look at:

If you're anywhere near the SW Midlands then I can strongly recommend Motorvation Ltd in Evesham for any aircon-related work.  Their principal chap, Geoff Dyde, really knows his stuff and is used by Bosch as a consultant and tutor for teaching aircon stuff to garage mechanics.  Motorvation did the work on my aircon system last year and it's now performing as it should (touch wood!).

As stated above, this was my original point, didn't mean to offend the point is I  had 2 Octavias both with Sanden compressors and both failed; a common fault with VAG my aircon guy said it has kept him in business for ages...now the superb does generate cold air but i am sensitive to heat, so may feel that the air con isn't ice cold.  I have also found that the aircon is better when moving at above 1500rpm. In West Oxford I would recommend ACRE in Carterton for air con work.
