Adaptive cruise control

Featured Replies

Does the ACC have a speed limiting feature where you set it to what you want your maximum speed to be and the vehicle will not go faster no matter how heavy your right foot is unlike normal cruise control that will let you go faster than the setting. I would like to have both on any car. Currently looking at a spec'd up SE which is still turning out cheaper than the SEL - both brilliant cars for the money?

It doesn't have that on my 64 plate Octavia with ACC.

There is a speed warning feature: "Warning at excessive speeds". You set the speed and you get an audible alarm when you exceed it. (At least that's what the manual says it does; I've never used it.)

My Octavia estate is an SE L with ACC it doesn't have a maximum speed setting as far as I know. You set the speed and it stays at that speed. It can go above if you depress the accelerator and will return to the set speed, or iirc you need to click the + button on the stalk end.

I think it would be unsafe to have a fixed speed set without the ability to increase in case of emergency.

When I have used my ACC, I don't need to put my foot on the accelerator, if I do it increases the speed. If I want to increase or decrease the speed, I click the + or - button's on the end of the left stork (indicator stalk)

My old Merc had speed limit feature, you can still go faster by pressing accelerator to kick-down if you need to get away from stuff. But it's an either/or relationship to the cruise control, I'm not sure why you'd want it with ACC enabled car.

I think there is an ACC configuration option (££) to add speed limit feature to the ACC stalk.

Unless its a new option on the latest model year the Octavia doesn't have any speed limiter function.

As above, you can configure an audiable warning from the Maxidot but it doesnt prevent the real speed from exceeding this.
