towbar

Featured Replies

I want to get a towbar fitted on my yeti SEL Drive 1.2 petrol.

Because it has rear sensors, do I have to get a detachable bar?

(I priced one at a dealer I saw mentioned on the forum and the quote, with single electrics, was £540.)

What, if any, are the disadvantages of having a standard bar?

also, as I am on a PCP, do I have to tell Skoda that I am adding the bar?

Thanks.

pcp no idea, I have a permanently mounted swan neck job, never had probs with the rear sensors + gives the car rear a little extra protection here a la frog

I have a fixed Witter 2 bolt type (so I can attach my bike rack) with single electrics.

answers to your questions;

Because it has rear sensors, do I have to get a detachable bar?  No

(I priced one at a dealer I saw mentioned on the forum and the quote, with single electrics, was £540.)  Mine cost £325 fitted and re-coded also included a reg plate for my trailer.

What, if any, are the disadvantages of having a standard bar?   None

also, as I am on a PCP, do I have to tell Skoda that I am adding the bar?  Mine is on a PCP and when I asked, they only commented it would be cheaper to get your own sorted. My PCP is soon to end but I am buying it anyway. You might want to mention it to your insurance and break-down cover though.

Hope this helps.

I am just about to a towbar fitted. It will be a Witter Bar with w hols flange and detachable towball so my cycle rack attachment can be affixed. Had exactly same on my last Tsi Yeti.  No worries about the rear sensors. As we now only use a trailer and cycle rack very occasionally I am having a universal wiring kit and black 7 pin electric socket. Cost fitted £265.

www.pfjones.co.uk/ £356.00 7 pin  mobile fitting  £175.
