Availability & actuvation of Apple Carplay/Android auto/Mirrorlink by country

Hello Guys,

I am enjoying my new 2017 Fabia very much but like a lot of people, I thought Smartlink came as standard with the Bolero system. I live in Mauritius and Smartlink comes as an add-on in the African market, unfortunately... So I wanted to buy the activation codes since the Smartlink does appear on my screen and asks me to purchase the codes through dealership if I want it to work.

I got two problems:

1. Škoda is telling me that the only way to know if the system is pre-installed in my hardware or not is to take a risk (yeah... what?) and buy the codes to see what happens.... which makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE since these codes can be bought separately for a reason I believe????? Besides how come they don't even know if it is pre-installed or not? 

2.  Even if I get smartlink installed successfully I don't even know if it will work or not. I read that carplay and android auto are region locked? Does this mean it won't work at all or only a few functions will be available? I own an IPhone 6S, checked the website and Mauritius is definitely not on the Carplay listed countries... Can anybody enlighten me on this?  :-/
