Columbus system settings locked up

Featured Replies

Looking to buy a 2014 superb L&K, but the Columbus seems different to mine - is it bust or locked or just different?

1, No HDD is accessible - the HDD option/tab is greyed out. (select Media and only TV and AV options are lit up and work)

2, When selecting system from setup - it freezes - no screen selections do anything - have to wait ages for it to reboot - again, is it somehow locked?

3, the secret menu (hold down setup for 15 seconds) does not get me into the secret menue - so I cant check on HDD details

Is there such a thing as locking the Columbus? If so, how do I unlock it?

Thanks

The HDD won't be accessible unless someone has loaded something on to it. It needs some music tracks on it before it'll allow you to access it so it may be that it's just acting as it should. As regards start up, from cold it takes about a minute to fully boot up so you can access all the functions. It'll start with radio, then might go into media after that or it might go into navigation (depending on the model and software level), and finally it'll allow you into the system settings. People are more likely to want navigation and music before they need to start looking in the depths of the settings menu.
