To be honest if the money was there I’d fit a dsg.

£2k for a DQ500 which will handle 600 Nm as standard and which Darkside say can cope with up to 1000 Nm with uprated clutch packs and a software remap, if you can persuade it to fit into the Fabia....

Then you’ve got things like the shafts, starter, mounts, tcu etc

looking at the best part of 4.5-5k

Let’s be realistic here mate , what kind of power and torque you gonna get from anything else than that Skoda you have it’s an absolute machine just imagine it with dsg Kevlar clutches and launch control ... would be rs3 territory and your looking at 40-50k for one of them new , guess if you wanna let me have the fastest Skoda fabia mk2 (in the uk) on here then be my guest ;) would say 4-4.5 k is silly , surely you can fit a mk2 vrs seven speed in it as the mountings will be the same etc ? LGM off here is selling all the bits off his vrs mk2 at reasonable prices

DSG wont solve traction problems at 300hp.

If chasing BHP is your thing honestly your next 'Racer hot hatch' needs to be a 4WD, you could have have probably had an AMG A45 tuneable up to nearly 600bhp.

The DQ200 would destroy itself as soon as I put it into gear with the amount of torque I have.

4.5k might sound silly but it’s realistic.

Exactly traction is the issue even with a diff.

A45’s have struggled with it in the past :D

Do nothing at crail.

I know, but think of the quarter mile times...

On a slightly more serious note, is it possible to run more tyre under your car? Be it from running a different offset wheel to get more room or having a slightly oversquare setup to have a fatter wheel in front surely it would atleast help matters. Then again too much grip would just snap driveshafts and what not.

Could probably do 225 but that would be at a push.

Were you able to reuse the lsd from your old Gearbox and put it into this one?

How hard was the 6 speed conversion?

Nah can’t reuse it but hopefully selling it will go towards getting a few one.

my mate was able to do it in a few hours. Around half a day but everything was different even down to cable brackets and driveshaft bolts.

Local bump in the road killed one of my wheel bearings.

Fabia one £90

Ibiza 6J estate one £155 :wondering: gotta love these rear axle upgrades.

Ouch! One of our local potholes mullered one of the front tyres on mine last december. Only 65 euro to get it done but it meant I had to get another one to match. Wish it would have bust a rear one instead as they are getting old, They grip good even in snow and have good tread, just old.

First day out at Crail with the new 6 speed, some good runs.

Interesting to note that even though i felt the car was lazy on the launch it seemed to be faster than the 5 speed in 1st and 2nd but at around 73mph onwards the 5 speed was faster. Wondering if it might have been wind speed/direction coming into it though.

blue is 6 speed red is 5 speed

So had a look into why the speeds were down at Crail last time and it came down to a sticking calliper. Although i guess the fact that there was smoke coming from the drivers front brake after following a friends 415whp Starlet back home gave it away :D i guess it's expected though considering it's done 113k now.

Best was a 13.856, with 3 runs in the 13's so becoming more consistant
