I'm not convinced about the eBay compatibility check, I put in the details of the Skoda Fabia that has had it done to and it says it isn't compatible!!

Hmm

I've found it to be incorrect a few times.

So I'm not sure whether I just take a risk at it or not. Perhaps if I ask the seller, they'll let me try it and return it if not.

I find the manual sidelight / headlight operator very reliable and efficient.

I see that there are lights needed front and rear and i switch them on and on they stay until i switch them off.

That is great, but having driven a Yeti that had automatic lights, I much prefer it and would rather have that feature.

I know what you mean.

I drive a car with Autolights as well, but then i need to turn the switch to Auto or sidelight or headlights so i just put it to headlights then i know the DRL's are not on and the sidelights and headlights are, the system works well that way.

I guess so. It isn't a necessary thing for me, but if it isn't going to be an expensive or awkward thing to do, I may as well!

Why not just leave it in auto?

Because having driven a Volvo for long enough it is nice to know that front and rear lights are always on and not decided by some light sensor when i still have my senses and eye sight.

I wouldn't expect that to fit a Yeti - mostly as I expect it has completely the wrong connector on it.

You might have more chance with something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112418817862 as your headlight switch probably shares a connector/pinout with a MK6 Golf version. It's easy enough to take your switch out to check the connectors.

If you have auto wipers installed, you can probably just replace the switch and code it. It might need an extra wire :)

If you leave it in auto, you don't have to think.................yet again.  We're in the last days already.
