Quick Fix Brake Upgrade?

Featured Replies

I am looking to upgrade cheaply!!!!! my VRS brakes. I apprediate that a full set of Brembo gran Turismos would be the ideal, however due to the fact that she'll kill me if I spend any more:( I am just looking to upgrade the pads and fluid (sensible d'ya reckon:confused: )

I have read a lot about the ins and outs on here and flattened my laptop batteries on more than one occasion searching the net for products and so I thought I would once again turn to the experts.

What do you use?

What do you reccomend?

I have a modified (approx 185bhp) car and I drive in a middle of the road fashion. I will be going to my first track day in 3 weeks and would like the new brakes to cope with that (bearing in mind, I won't be trying to break any speed records)

Thanks folks

Either Blackdiamond or EBC grooved disks and appropriate pads, or the 312mm TT/S3 set-up, either will cost under £250 !!!!

Thanks mate! I have gone for Golfturbos deal and specified the Zimmermann cross drilled discs as extra. They get a really good write up in the German motoring press. I will look into pads this week. May keep the standard ones for the mean time so I can compare and contrast.

As ever I will write a quick ditty on how easy they were to install and how they compare after a short running in period.

Quick question folks? Does anyone know the colour code or name for the the green paint used on the calipers/hangers? I feel some dodgy spraying coming on!!

Cheers folks

P.S. The Sport Contact 2s are still up for grabs:thumbup: (shameless plug:O )
