Dead LED DRL

Featured Replies

Great start to Monday... I mean Tuesday!

One of my DRLs appears to have died on the way to work this morning. Pinged up a message about "check Daytime Running Light". Turned the ignition off and back on, tried different headlight modes, no luck.

Is this a common issue?

If anyone had this issue was the issue with the headlight unit or the controller?

Thanks

I believe a few have certainly had this issue. Water ingress.

Haven't noticed any issue with moisture or water getting in, but interesting point. Just tested it again now and it's working again with no error on the dashboard.

Not sure whether to book in to the dealers now or not as I'll probably get the "we couldn't find anything wrong" analysis. Grr... Hate little niggly issues like this.

No bashes on mine fortunately, but did notice some condensation in the headlight when I got home tonight. DRL worked fine and no errors on the way home. Blasted it from behind with the hairdryer and the bulb covers off and left some silica packets inside and out the covers back on.

Hopefully any moisture inside will have been removed or absorbed by the silica and I will see how it goes over the next few weeks.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but did your problem go away by letting it dry out?
