But we CAN take the lead in getting Skoda to look again at the economics instead of just saying "last time we looked there was no demand"...

Skoda sell more cars now than at any time in the past therefore, ENOUGH demand needs to be far greater than it has ever been before. I personally think you're flogging a dead horse but, you crack on if it makes you happy.

A petrol Octavia Scout already exists, it is sold today in Australia so demand is there.

No one on here can say for sure whether there is sufficient demand in the UK but what we do know is that:

  • The Octavia is Skoda's most popular model in the UK.
  • The shift from diesel to petrol models is on the increase.
  • Two people on a thread containing eight posters would buy one.

Wouldn't one of these be suitable for your needs if Skoda aren't playing ball?

Petrol,4wd,nice size etc?

I did buy one! (Not a Scout admittedly) and cracking machine it is too.  I do agree with the "not enough demand" though. Sales of the Superb petrol 4x4 demonstrate that. Although the 1.8 Octavia is a far more practical car for everyday use.

most recently there has been a 21% drop in diesel sales -the market will decide!
