KESSY Q

Featured Replies

Had the car a few weeks now and still having KESSY oddities.

(Note: changed battery just in case - no differance)

1. The car sometimes wont open when I hold the handle - maybe quarter of the time have to use the fob button

2. The car sometimes wont lock then using the handle - maybe about half the time I have to use the fob button

3. The boot ALWAYS opens without needing the fob button (and I didn't think the noot worked with KESSY - can't see that feature in the manual - is it randomly unlocking?)

Any ideas? Is it the same with your car?

The boot does work with Kessy. Regarding unlocking, after a time (I believe about 72 hours) the door handle sensors are switched off to save power, where the boot being a 'real' switch carries on. Maybe this? Locking, I don't know. If the key is VERY close to the car it might think its inside rather than outside.

It's effeminately not a 72 hour thing - I haven't left the car alone for as long as 72 hours since I have had it.

I will try with the keys in my other pocket

I have had both 1 and 2 happen but nowhere close to the frequency you're mentioning here.

Does the problem happen with both doors or just one?

Only been to the passesnger door a few times - it worked

just realised my 'locking' process was flawed - you can't hold the handle and put your thumb on the lock area and expect it to lock! DOH!

There's also a feature whereby you cover both sensors to allow you to check that the door is locked. That might account for the failure to open you described...,

Thats a nice feature

Your dead right - it works perfectly when I use it correctly!

There is a feature to help you check you locked it, but my understanding is that for a few seconds after locking, it ignores the unlock sensor so you don't have to hold both. Maybe actually it has both of these. Anyhow for me if I want to check I just check the rear doors because they don't have the sensors.
