Hello mates. Need help.

 

Recently i got the clutch replaced and ever since that the power steering is not working. The red power steering light is on the dashboard.

Some time it does work however it only works till the time the car is not stopped and keys removed.

I suspect the censors might is not connected properly. As i have researched online.

Can any one help me to locate the wirings and censors of electric power steering.

 

If possible help with the pictures.

It maybe a coincidance as the steering rack and it's sensors do not need to be disturbed during a clutch change, a simple solution maybe tighten the battery terminals, if these are loose the first thing to stop working is the power steering rack as it won't get enough current/power to work.

 

Also none of the ABS/Traction control sensors need to be disturbed either.

Well I have have already done that, and that did not help, This was the first thing i tried.

When i scan from VCDS its gives a error as'' No communication with steering assistance'' (Some thing like this)

J500 error code.

 

I looked in rosstech website and it says that, there two possibilities. Either the connection is lose or the power steering module is faulty.

 

Can any one help.

I would then change the power steering module as in your first post you state it does work sometimes, bear in mind the new module might need to be coded to the vehicle.

 

I still think it's coincedance as explained the front subframe, steering and suspension does not need to be disturbed to change a clutch on the MK2 octavia, the drive shafts simply unbolt from the gearbox and the hub and the can be removed.

 

VW golfs and VW caddy's are the same 

Well where is the power steering module located in the car?

It's on the power steering rack  Check the connector is clean and corrosion free.

 

I'd also check the fuses for mirco fractures, they aren't always obvious and can cause intermediate issues like this.

Hi did any body manage to sort the problem aye currently have the same issue on my 2007 vrs :(
