Delivery- overly sensitive?

Featured Replies

Not the biggest issue in the world but this has really gripped my excrement.

A new car was delivered to me on Tues at work my by Lookers Manchester (270 miles away) minus the Sat Nag SD card. Garage rings me to tell me, apologises and tells me it is going in 1st class post for delivery Weds.

Unhappily, ok says I. Weds- no card. I ring the garage to be told it was posted and should be with me Thurs. Thurs arrives and is a repeat of Weds. Fri arrives and again no card, I ring the garage again and expressed my dismay and that even if it arrives Sat, I won't get it until Monday as it is being sent to my work. I told them that if it does not arrive for Monday that I will expect a new one posted out.

The reply was, we will need to order one as we don't keep them in stock.

The kick in the gonads is that my car has been with them since July! So much for the PDI then. The car was minging on delivery including food crumbs on the seat from the delivery driver!!

Id say very minor gripe compared to some of the issues owners have on here.

As for the car being dirty is lazy on behalf of the supplier and i guess to the delivery driver. it is just another car he is delivering its his job.

I used to take advantage of my local dealer picking up and dropping of my car, until one driver commented on that my car was not as fast as the octavia vrs he had driven. I could only deduce from this comment he was driving in a manner he should not have. He never drove my cars again.

Not much help and I appreciate you had no choice in the matter, but it's not the first complaint I've read about the Lookers group.

I bought my first Škoda, a Superb II, from a local independent and always received first class service where nothing seemed to be too much bother. They were then bought out by Lookers whose slogan is/was "Customers for Life". When it came to changing my car to the recently announced Superb III I was greeted with total apathy "It ain't available". Two days later I walked into a not-quite-so-local independent Škoda dealer who took my order then and there for the "it ain't available" car and in over two years I've had nothing but good service from them. They didn't even quibble about the 6,000 mile / 6 month "wear and tear" warranty clause when I asked them to look at an intermittent door rattle at 18,000 miles.

You're not by any chance related to that student girl "The Shropshire **** Slinger" who tried and failed to throw her unflushable out the bathroom window and then got stuck? :D
