I am about to buy a used Skoda Approved car from a Skoda dealer. The original 3 year warranty expires in May 2018. I understand I should get a one year warranty from Skoda with the car.

 

Is this an extension to the original warranty, or just one year from purchase?

 

In other words does the warranty expire September 2018 or May 2019?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Once the 3 years warranty expires in May the remaining warranty to take it to one year after purchace is a Skoda Approved warranty offered by a third party

 

Example:-  Car with 6 months left on it's factory warranty is, 6 months factory warranty and 6 months Skoda approved warranty. The warranty will expire Sept 2018.
