Interim service on a variable service PCP

Featured Replies

Hi

I have my car on a 42 month PCP. I decided this time to go with variable servicing instead of fixed because I do at least 15K miles per year in my diesel. I am thinking that I may keep this car at the end of the PCP and want the turbo etc to be in good condition. So since i am coming up to 10K miles on it now I thought about having an oil and filter change done at my local dealer. I assume this is ok warranty wise to not use a dealer?

Also what happens when I have this done. The service indicator still says I have over 10k to go before my first service. I understand the car looks at the oil quality and will change this figure accordingly if it thinks it needs to be sooner. So if I get the oil and filter done won't this confuse the car and it won't give me the correct indication when the first dealer will be?

My VWFS plan requires the use of a Skoda only dealer, but I don't plan on keeping mine otherwise I would go elsewhere.

Really? Maybe mine says that too. Better check.
