Stop lock ultimate steering lock.

Following a plague of thefts where I live, I obtained the above steering lock. It says it's a universal fitting.

However I've been unable to get it on my steering wheel.

Has anyone else tried and suceeded

btw I realise that the determined thief will be able to get it off in a matter of mins, but I thought they might move onto another car rather than persevere with mine.
